Easy Means Of Finding A Target Market

Posted on July 30th, 2008

Writing reviews can be difficult and by no means an easy task. Think about it, you have to: Know the content, be able to see what the reader is looking for when reading a review, display in-depth understanding of the product and finally sell the product to the visitors reading the information.

However, let?s face it, it can sound a lot harder then it actually seems when the areas you tap into as a reader are brought out in this kind of way. If you want to write a truly good review article then you need to keep you head geared for some specific areas.

Your target market, this includes the amount they will pay for your finished work, the age group the buyers are likely to be and where they live in the world.

One of the biggest mistakes we see in targeting a market is “stepping on the toes” of another market as a result. It’s common to see a certain market such as weight loss pills not appeal to skinnier types. This is common sense, although the ideal weight loss pill is also a supplement for those who are skinnier- and therefore they too have a need for them.

To avoided these common mistakes you should write out a plan, it should include; The age, The price Range, The target market, The target location (England).

When we said “get into the mind” of the reader, we meant it. If you’re writing for an elderly target market, then you should likewise conform to their ideals (if even only temporarily). As we all know, most elderly can’t work- and are usually careful with spending money. Thus, a good subconscious topic to discuss would be cheap products and services.

Sometimes it isn’t always as easy as just targeting a specific market- some markets converge into each other just like a Venn diagram- only much more complex! Keep all variables in mind, keep aware of possible market “bleeds,” and above all else, stay politically correct!

More sales will come from a properly conducted market trial. If all else fails, start from step one and move forward!
